Nonlocal differential operators improve image reconstruction in diffuse optical tomography

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

We propose a nonlocal Tikhonov regularization to the inverse model in diffuse optical tomography, using a spatial gradient operator defined on irregular meshes. Numerical experiments show that the proposed method is able to achieve better depth localization and higher image contrast than standard methods.
