On the Positivity of the Clamped Plate Equation for Cubic Perturbations of a Disk in R^2

Abstract

In this article we study the clamped plate equation on a family of domains close to the limacon of Pascal. Just as in the case of the limacons, we encounter among them domains without positivity preserving property. We provide the solution for this boundary value problem constructing the corresponding Green’s function, and we analyze its sign.
