Abstract
Florence Nightingale was a visionary, reformer, statistician, iconoclast, and founder of modern nursing. She deserves to be remembered for challenging and critiquing outdated systems and sacrosanct practices, more than wandering through wards with a lamp (Lee et al., 2013).
