Abstract
Computational reactor simulation tool offers new possibilities for analysing and enhancing the performance of existing and new reactors. Therefore a reactor simulation tool, called ReST, was developed using a tanks in series model. ReST allows representing real life, complex issues like by-pass, back flow, dead space and backmixing in gas and liquid phases etc. via easy to use menus. This makes it a very versatile and flexible reactor simulation tool. A case study of chlorination of acetic acid is presented to illustrate the usage of ReST.
