Abstract

Prof. Safieddin (Ali) Safavi-Naeini was our Ph.D. supervisor, a great mentor, a kind supporter and above all our role model. He had a vast knowledge and wide experiences in his field of expertise, was a great educator, an extremely supporting mentor, and a visionary academic/industry leader. In this talk, we would like to focus on Prof. Safavi-Naeini’s pioneering research on terahertz (THz) technology and his significant contributions to this field. He has had profound impacts on many graduate students, postdocs and research associates who have been trained and graduated from his group in this field and other fields of applied electromagnetics.
