Abstract

Sexual health is a critical component of the overall health and well-being of an individual, and in part, relies on an individual’s sexual function. Sexual dysfunction is a common complication of kidney disease, estimated to affect >75% of individuals living with kidney failure. Sexual dysfunction in kidney failure may be related to multiple potential factors, and is often under-recognized and under-treated. Effective management of sexual dysfunction in kidney failure requires a multipronged approach, supported by awareness and education of kidney health professionals.
