Abstract

This paper analyses the performance of short-packet communication for cooperative unnamed aerial vehicle (UAV)-based multiple-input multiple-output systems with rate splitting multiple access (RSMA) over Nakagami-m fading channels. In particular, the exact and asymptotic expressions for the cumulative distribution function (CDF) and the block-error-rate (BLER) are derived. From the asymptotic results, the diversity order is revealed to provide additional insights into the impact of the system parameters on the BLER performances. Finally, the simulations are provided to validate the analytical derivations and demonstrate the impact of the number of antennas, power allocation, and block-length on short-packet communications.
