Tackling the effects of social disadvantage in education

Abstract

The paper examines some of the issues related to the work of the DE Expert Group on underachievement in education. The paper highlights design features of the NI education system which seem to exacerbate educational inequalities and proposes ways of reframing the way we measure the impact and value of educational experiences.
