Abstract
On the 150th anniversary of Dickens death, this exhibition at the Charles Dickens Museum, curated by Leon Litvack, explores the enduring power of Dickens’s image. Using the Museum’s significant collection of Dickens’s portraits as its basis, the exhibition introduces how Dickens’s image was used by the author, the public and others to represent his work and himself. The project features eight colourised images of the author, to mark the anniversary and present a fresh image of Dickens to the public.
