Abstract
Techniques of reducing the oscillator noise of an active patch antenna are discussed. These include using different depth-metallized cavities, higher dielectric constant substrate, and a low-noise active device. Experimental results show that the most effective method among these is using a deep cavity by which 38 dB noise reduction has been achieved.
