Abstract

The aim of this report is to summarise research funded by the Public Health Agency Research and Development Unit for Northern Ireland and the Education Authority that led to two peer reviewed journal articles on The Daily Mile (TDM) initiative in Northern Ireland, and its effectiveness on children’s health and wellbeing. The articles include (i) a systematic review of the evidence for the benefits of TDM on children’s health and wellbeing, and (ii) a data linkage study that reflects participation in the TDM across Northern Ireland primary and special education schools.
