Abstract

A study of human feeding of monkeys for recreational purposes in Japan. The book describes and analyses recreational feeding in visitor attractions known as 'wild monkey parks'. It examines both the appeal of this behaviour to tourists and the negative side-effects it can have in the form of monkey aggression towards people, monkey population increase, and monkey damage to nearby settlements.
