The institutional environment of Germanic controlling – is it hindering digitalisation?

The dominance of financial accounting may be a hindrance to digitalisation of controlling in German small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). While digitalisation is apparent in both the United Kingdom (UK) and Germany, SME in the former benefit from better information for decision-making and controlling as financial accounting, taxation and controlling information sources are more closely linked.
