Abstract
The objective of this chapter is to analyze the role of the ICC from the perspective of postcolonialism and the Global South. To this end, it presents, first, its main postulates followed by questions related to the process of selection by the ICC of situations and cases. Next, we address the background, context and content of the ICC decisions of April 12, 2019 and March 5, 2020, and the statement of ICC Prosecutor of September 27, 2021 on the Situation of Afghanistan. Finally, we conclude by analyzing the impact of these decisions upon the perception of the fulfillment of the ICC’s role by the countries of the Global South
