Abstract

This chapter explores how applying different critical terms affects our interpretation of the works studied. Rather than selecting a single framework Bowskill advocates that critics should seek the benefits of different perspectives just as these women use multiple media to present an alternative destabilising view rather than confirming existing hierarchies and borders. Of particular interest is the way in which the transgression of media boundaries is linked to a rejection of a national frame of reference.
