Abstract
A critical overview of Philadelphia Here I Come for the fiftieth anniversary production of Brian Friel's masterpiece, which sets the play in relation to a rich tradition of emigration drama in Irish Theatre and to the the ways in which emigration has indelibly inscribed Ireland's physical landscape and cultural psyche.
