Abstract

This edited volume of essays on space in the nineteenth-century Irish city broke new ground in Irish urban history. US-based Irish Studies Review praised it for ‘drawing attention to topics … neglected in the overall scholarship’, its ‘analytical breadth’ and ‘massively interdisciplinary approach’. A review in the leading Irish History journal, Irish Historical Studies, described it as ‘innovative, varied and intriguing … worthwhile and timely’.
