Abstract
In this article we describe the design and performance of a waveguide-fed corrugated surface wave antenna for use in the 57-62 GHz V-band wireless communication band for HD video hook-up. The antenna dimensions are calculated using standard closed form leaky-wave formulae for infinitely wide corrugations. The actual structure which has finife corrugations is simulated using HFSS with good agreement to measurement. The final structure has a mid-band return loss of -8 dB and the antenna, exhibits similar to 4.2-dB gain at 60 degrees above the horizontal plane.
