Abstract

Highlights

•We distinguish conflicts from wage activity (WVC) and venture activity (VWC).

•We highlight the bi-directional nature of role conflict.

•Time allocation predicts where role conflicts are more likely to emerge.

•Hybrid entrepreneurs may shift conflicts toward the less prioritized role.

•VWC and WVC affect wage employment satisfaction through two distinct mechanisms.
