Why is Japan still ‘waiting for wolves’? An update on the wolf reintroduction movement

Abstract

A report on the state of wolf reintroduction campaign in present-day Japan 18 years after the publication of Waiting for Wolves in Japan (Oxford University Press, 2003). The presentation offers an explanation of why wolves have yet to be restored to the Japanese forest and the challenge faced by the Japan Wolf Association to promote support for the initiative.
