Abstract

Our attitudes to materiality could be expanded further – taking Bauman Lyons’ three spheres of operation and considering how materiality could be considered in the different sectors and intersections. I suggest that after the introduction of basic principles and rules of thumb students of architecture could, and perhaps should, be introduced to different attitudes about materiality – reflecting the modes of operation suggested by them.
