Abstract
A compact wide band (GSM/DCS/PCS/UMTS/ Bluetooth/WLANs/Wi-MAX) planar balanced antenna which contains circular radiation element is presented. The antenna radiator comprises of balanced planner open-end loops with circular patch in the center, fed by the end of loops on surface of a PCB board. The antenna size is 16 mm × 30 mm and no via is needed in the fabrication process. Techniques such as meandered lines, opened loop and capacitive coupling are used to increase the bandwidth and matching of antenna and size reduction performance. Radiation efficiency of antenna over complete sweep of operational frequency has been investigated. The proposed antenna configuration is attractive for mobile devices and integrated wireless communication systems.
