Abstract

Porous liquids are liquids with permanent porosity and have attracted much attention as novel materials because of their fluidity and rapid heat and mass transfer. Therefore, they have potential applications in gas adsorption, homogeneous catalysis, and drug delivery due to the combined properties of both liquids and porous materials. Compared with porous solids, porous liquids can be applied in a continuous gas flow process. Synthesis and application of porous liquids have been investigated these years. However, few studies have focused on the properties of porous liquids based on the change of porous solids’ particle size, which are used in the preparation of porous liquids. Here we focused on the study of the effect of the porous solids’ particle size on the preparation and application of porous liquids. In addition, we also briefly introduced the potential compressibility of porous liquids.
