Abstract
The nature and scale of the Covid-19 pandemic posed unprecedented challenges on healthcare systems; staff were faced with difficult decisions relating to the provision of care and resources. Research which explores the experience of staff working during this challenging time is imperative. This thesis includes a meta-analytic review of moral injury and resilience in healthcare staff working on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic and a longitudinal qualitative study of 20 frontline health and social care managers working during the COVID-19 pandemic. Two master themes are discussed as well as future implications for healthcare practice.Thesis is embargoed until 31 December 2025.
