    Organisation profile

    Research in the School of Planning, Architecture and Civil Engineering is carried out within the Centre for Built Environment Research, Environmental Engineering Research Centre and Institute for Spatial and Environmental Planning.  These three centres returned under two Units of Assessment in the 2008 RAE: Civil Engineering and Town and Country Planning.

    Civil Engineering at Queen's continues to build on the strong position achieved in previous Research Assesment Exercises and is now ranked 8th in the UK with 75% of its research deemed to be world leading or internationally excellent. Town and Country Planning at Queen's is now rated 9th in Russell Group submissions to the RAE.
