My research interests fall broadly within the sociological study of childhood, youth and education. I have a particular research interest in educational attainment, creation and reproduction of social identity and social cohesion.
I joined the Centre for Evidence and Social Innovation (CESI) in 2017 and have been involved in research on early intervention and prevention and programme evaluation. I have experience across a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods and previously worked on projects on multi-denominational religious education in the Republic of Ireland (TCD) and social identity in young people in Northern Ireland (PhD research, University of Aberdeen).
I have been involved in the following projects at QUB:
2017 - Present - CESI Innovation Zones
2019 - Present - LINKS
2017-2018 - Peep Learning Together Programme Evaluation
2017-2018 - Children's Research Network Prevention and Early Intervention Initiative
I currently assist with the assessment and supervision of the MEd in Educational Studies.
