    Research Interests

Children with visual impairment often experience challenges in movement. My project is a collaboration with Blind Children UK and it focuses on the motor skills of visually impaired children. Existing research has identified performance differences on movement assessments between sighted and visually impaired participants based on binary pass or fail outcomes. Using motion capture technology we hope to better understand the component(s) of motor control affected. The aim of my first year has been to identify the key movement challenges through measurement of different motor tasks. This will be investigated further during the project to inform future motor learning interventions aimed at increasing participation
