    Research Statement

Her research explores the role of professional theatre artists as stakeholders in the policy-making and leadership of professional subsidised theatre in the UK. It applies stakeholder theory as a way of understanding the relationships between independent artists, managers and public bodies in the industry, particularly the differing perceptions of each other’s roles and powers.  Her research will contribute to thinking in how national arts strategies are formed and the development of business models within performing arts. It will have implications for understanding of the functions and responsibilities of arts managers and policy-makers in wider discussions of representation, interculturalism and social mobility in the performing arts.
