    Research Interests

My research interests sit at the interfaces between American literature, theology and continetnal philosophy. In 2015 I was awarded funding for a PhD project by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, Northern Bridge Consortium. My thesis, 'Marilynne Robinson, Theologian of the Ordinary', is a study of the theology of acclaimed novelist and essayist Marilynne Robinson, attentive to her distinctive contribution to contemporary philosophy of religion, continental philosophy and literary theology.

I have a long standing interest in the 'Masters of Suspicion', completing an MA on Marx, Nietzsche and Freud's relation to Christiantiy in 2014. My future work will continue to interrogate the interelation of continental philosophy, theology and American writing.

I have taught seminars on ENG2072 'Introduction to American Writing' in 2017 and 2018 and have lectured on Walt Whitman, Edgar Allan Poe, and Frederick Douglass for this module.

I hold a PGCE in Religious Studies and English.
