    Research Statement

    My current research is heavily focused on investigating the efficacy and risk associated with implementing Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). CCS is going to be an essential part of any near-future low-carbon energy portfolio, particuarly if countries are to meet their obligations under the Paris Agreement. My ongoing work uses geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to develop integrated models of the subsurface to explore how CCS may (or may not) work.


    My other research focuses broadly on high latitude and altitude settings. This work typically focuses on integrating geomorphological and stratigraphic information from 3D and 2D seismic reflection data, borehole/core data, and land areas analysis. This holistic approach allows us to better understand past environmental changes, their causes, and their potential as analogues for contemporary and future climate changes.
