I am a DEL funded PhD student currently researching for the Northern Ireland Place-Name Project. The project is based here in Queen's Unversity, Belfast and its aim is to preserve and promote the legacy of our place-names. My current research relates primarily to deciphering the origin of townland-names within a certain geographical area (that being an area in the south of Co. Derry and north Co. Tyrone commonly referred to as 'Mid-Ulster'). My research interests include Celtic languages, place-names, translation and the early-modern period in Ireland.
