    Research Interests

    • Energy/chemicals production from thermo-chemical conversion of renewable and waste resources (biomass, plastics, waste glycerol, food waste etc.)
    • Heterogeneous catalyst development and application for hydrogen and syngas production
    • CO2 in-situ capture during thermo-chemical processing
    • Carbon nanotubes production from waste and renewable hydrocarbons
    • CO2 capture using solid sorbents and catalytic conversion of CO2 into chemicals (e.g. CH4)

    2018 – EPSRC SuperGen Bioenergy Hub (£50, 000)

                 Novel and integrated low carbon process combining the gasification of waste biomass and plasma-catalytic reforming for the production of sustainable aviation biofuels, Co-I, collaborated with University of Liverpool.

    2017 – 2019 EPSRC (£200,000)

    Microwave-assisted upgrading of fast pyrolysis bio-oil using structured zeolites on microwave-absorbing foam supports (EP/R000670/1), Co-I, collaborated with University of Manchester

    2016 – 2017 International Exchange Scheme - Royal Society, (£7,400)

                 Upgrading of bio-oil produced from biomass pyrolysis, Principal Investigator,

                 collaborated with Southeast University.
