Dr Claire Moran is a literary specialist and art historian who works on nineteenth and early-twentieth century France and Belgium. Her research focuses on text-image relations, artists' writings and nineteenth-century social and cultural history. Her publications include articles on Impressionist, Symbolist and Expressionist art and literature, as well as scholarly editions of artists' writings, an edited volume on art and theatre in nineteenth-century France and Belgium and a monograph on Performance and Self-Portraiture.
