    Research Interests

My research interests lie in whistleblowing, organizational culture, identity and power. In particular, I am interested in psychoanalytic and poststructural approaches to these topics, and in the broader field of Critical Management Studies.

I have recently held fellowships at the Edmond J Safra Lab at Harvard University (2013-15) and Cambridge Judge Business School (2008-2016). Empirical research includes projects on speaking up in contemporary organizations (with Professor Marianna Fotaki at Warwick Business School, supported by the British Academy/ Leverhulme Trust), speak-up systems in organizations (with Dr Wim Vandekerckhove and Professor Marianna Fotaki, supported by ESRC/ ACCA) and a recent ESRC Transformative Grant towards examining post-disclosure survival strategies by organizational whistleblowers.

My work has been published in Organization Studies and Human Relations among other journals. I am an editorial board member of Organization Studies, Organization and the Journal of Organizational Ethnography. Recent books include Understanding Identity and Organizations (SAGE 2011, with A. Whittle and H. Willmott), and Affect at Work: The Psychosocial and Organization Studies (Palgrave 2014, with M. Fotaki).
