    Particulars

    Laura Steele is a Lecturer (Education) in Business and Society at Queen's Management School. She has a particular interest in business ethics, governance, social responsibility, and public sector management. In addition, she serves as the champion for Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability (ERS) within the School. 

    Laura developed and hosts the QMS Good Business Podcast, which aims to go beyond the bottom line and examine the ethical, social, and environmental responsibilities of businesses. She also regularly contributes to the School's Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability Blog on diverse topics including the potential ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence and human rights concerns within the fashion industry.  

    Laura is a member of the QMS Gender Equality Team and, alongside Dr Karen Bonner, acts as the Widening Participation Champion within the School.

    Research Interests

    Laura's doctoral research focused on corporate social capital creation and transfer amongst SME owner-managers in Northern Ireland. Or, in other words, how social networks can be utilised to improve business performance. Since graduating, her research interests have expanded to include business ethics, in particular issues around integrating/improving ethics education across a variety of organisational contexts.

    Professional Experience 

    Prior to joining Queen's Management School, Laura gained extensive experience across the private, public, and voluntary sectors with organisations including the Northern Ireland Assembly, Special EU Programmes Body, and Politics Plus.
