    Research Statement

    Dr Maryam Malekigorji is a pharmacist and completed a PhD in nanopharmaceutics at Keele University, UK. 

    Currently she is a Lecturer (Education) in Pharmaceutical Science and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, working at both School of Pharmacy, Queen's University Belfast and China Medical University-Queen's University Belfast Joint College (known as CQC), located in Shenyang, People's Republic of China. Dr Malekigorji is CQC Program Director in Pharmaceutical Science BSc degree pathway and was awarded Queen’s University Teaching Award in 2018. 

    Her current scientific research interests lie in the preparation and evaluation of metallic nanoparticles as multifunctional platform for diagnosis and therapy of cancers.

    Dr Malekigorji has developed her scholarship activities through pedagogical research which has focused on teaching activities in CQC.  She has been undertaking scholarly activity in relation to students’ academic performance and their views on the learning experience associated with blended and active learning strategies.

    In addition to these roles, Dr Maryam Malekigorji authors articles for a number of publications, and is an active member of Higher Education Academy (HEA), Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), British Education Studies Association (BESA) executive Committee, Controlled Release Society (CRS), British Society for Nanomedicine, American association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), Young Scientists Committee (YSC) and CRS Preclinical Sciences & Animal Health Committee (PSAH).
