    Muhammad Ali Babar Abbasi is Lecturer (Assistant Professor) with the Centre of Wireless Innovation (CWI) at the Queen's University Belfast UK since 2019. He joined the CWI as a Postdoc Research Fellow in 2017. He completed his PhD under the prestigious Erasmus Mundus scholarship from Frederick University, Cyprus (European) in 2017. He received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad, and received B.S. degree in electrical (telecommunication) engineering from the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2013 and 2011 respectively.   

    His current research interests include applied electromagnetics, mm-wave antennas for massive MIMO, phased arrays, lens based beamformers, passive and active antennas for biomedical devices, wireless sensors, and reconfigurable RF electronics. He was a recipient of COST VISTA short-term Scientific Mission grant in 2016, was listed as IET-young-professionals in 2017 and won the Mobile World Scholar Challenge at the Mobile World Congress 2019.
