    Research Statement

I am an isotope geochemist with over two decades of research experience currently employed as both research fellow and laboratory manager of the semi-commercial Stable Isotope Facility

I am a firm believer in multi- and interdisciplinary research and my portfolio of interests and publications include an array of topics that require isotopic interpretation: climate change, geology, archaeology, oceanography, environmental forensics, food provenance etc. Current research includes:

    • Time-dependent isotopic precipitation dynamics across Ireland
    • Freshwater Reservoir Effect on re-dating of Eurasian Steppe cultures
    • Carbon Cycling in Coastal Sediments
    • Danish Prehistoric Osteo-Isotopic Dynamics

    Interests

Application of the light stable isotopes to addressing problems in the fields of:

    • Ancient and recent climate change
    • Environmental forensics including contaminated environmental systems
    • Geologic processes
    • Provenancing
    • Ecology and archaeology
